ABOUT ME

Grishma Ghelani

Provisional Psychologist

Bachelor of Science (Psychology, Forensic Science, and History)

Bachelor of Psychological Science (Honours) Master of Clinical Psychology (Candidate)

Hello, I’m Grishma. I’m a provisional psychologist currently completing my Master of Clinical Psychology.

I believe therapy should be a space where you feel genuinely heard and able to explore your experiences without judgement. Together, we can talk openly and become curious about what lies beneath the surface, including patterns that may be shaping how you relate to yourself and those around you.

My approach is primarily relational and person-centered. I also integrate elements of Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Emotion-Focused and Psychodynamic approaches, depending on what we are working through together.

I work through a culturally responsive lens and recognize that our sense of self does not exist in isolation. Culture, family and the environments we move through can all influence how we make sense of ourselves and our mental health. Having lived across different cultural contexts, I am mindful of these influences and make space for them to be explored in therapy. My clinical training has taken me across community psychology, adult inpatient mental health and school settings, giving me the opportunity to work with people at different stages of life and with various mental health concerns.

I have an interest in working with adults, particularly through periods of change and uncertainty, as they make sense of who they are and where they are headed. Some of the areas I am interested in supporting include:

  • Identity and sense of self

  • Women’s mental health

  • Relationship and interpersonal difficulties

  • Life transitions and adjustment

  • Anxiety

  • Depression

  • Self-esteem and self-worth

  • Chronic illness and adjustment to health concerns

Some extra notes:

  • As a provisionally registered psychologist, my sessions are not eligible for Medicare rebates. Appointments are privately billed; please contact our admin team for information about my current fees.

  • I also work with children and adolescents and am happy to consider referrals on a case-by-case basis, depending on their presenting concerns and individual needs.
